ACT Today 5K

Participants can choose between a 5K or 10K run, or, for kids, a 1-mile fun run. event All proceeds go to providing treatment for the children of military families who cannot afford it. The East Mission Bay event begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 11 a.m.

Project Wildlife 4th Annual Baby Shower

From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., Project Wildlife’s Central Triage Center, located at 887 ½ Sherman St., will be giving tours, allowing the public to interact with the animals in the Center. Donations are accepted.

La Jolla Concours d’Elegance

Guests can browse historic cars with the breathtaking La Jolla Cove as a backdrop from 6 ‘til 9 p.m. in Ellen Browning Scripps Park.

After Dark Dash

After the sun sets in downtown San Diego, participants can compete in a 5K to raise money for the Children’s Tumor Awareness. The event is held from 10 until 11:30 p.m. and costs $35 to participate in.

Carlsbad 5000

Both beginning and experienced runners can choose to run (or walk!) one of the seven races on the course where 16 world records have been set. After the race, Pizza Port Beer Garden will provide participants with two free celebratory beers. The event is held from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m.

April 9th
East Village Opening Day Block Party

From 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., East Village will host a block party in honor of the Padres season opening, giving baseball fans a chance to mingle and enjoy music, food, and beer.

Superheroes 5K and 10K

Event participants are invited to dress up like their favorite superhero and run in either the 5K or 10K. Proceeds will go to the Joan Kroc Scholarship Foundation. The event is held in W. Mission Bay from 7:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.

Walk for Salk & Explore Salk

Hosted by the Salk Institute, this 5K walk is taking place at the same time as a complimentary Open House of the Institute. The event is held from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and also includes self-guided architectural tours, guest speakers, behind-the-scenes tours, and a wellness festival.

Grand Fondo San Diego Exposition

A registration booth will be set up in the County Administration Building parking lot from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. for cyclists to sign up for the Gran Fondo Bicycle Ride, which is held the next day.

Swing Into It Spring Festival

The festival will be held from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Via Vera Cruz St. in San Marcos, and will feature live entertainments, arts & crafts, food, a kid’s area, and vendors.

Seafood and Fairy Shrimp Festival

Delicious, local seafood will be presented from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the Walker Wangenheim School Park.

61st Annual Golf Tournament

Presented by Carlsbad’s Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs, the tournament is held at the Aviara Golf Club from 12:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Registration is at 11 a.m. and a shot gun start is at 12:30 p.m. Other activities include lunch, a putting contest, and a driving range.

Chicano Park Day Anniversary Celebration

From 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., a community celebration will be held in Chicano Park, featuring America’s largest ceremonial Aztec dance performance, as well as music, food, crafts, and a low rider car show.

Soap Box Derby

After spending time assembling their own soap box derby vehicles, youths will finally get a chance to race them down the 500-foot hill of Skyline Drive from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Israel Yom Ha’atzmaut Festival
Jewish music, kosher food, art, and Israeli folk dancing will all be featured at the event, located at the Nobel Athletic Field and Recreation Center.

Adams Ave. Unplugged

To celebrate the community’s diversity, Linda Vista will host performances, food, and carnival rides from 12:30 until 5 p.m. in the Linda Vista Charter School parking lot. This event is in association with the “Linda Vista Multi-Cultural Parade.”

March for Babies

The longest-running 5K in the country, the March of Dimes “March for Babies” is held from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. in Balboa Park, with proceeds going to infant mortality and birth defect education and research.

Multiple Sclerosis Walk

Held from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. in NTC Park, the event features live music, merchandise, and refreshments, as well as the walk, which is open to individuals, teams, and corporations.

La Jolla Shores 5K and Half Marathon

The 5K travels through La Jolla neighborhoods, and along its coast, before finishing in Scripps Park, where a celebration will also be held. The half marathon begins at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Both are held from 7:30 until 11:30 a.m.

Art Walk
