Finish Chelsea’s Run Mar. 1 Chelsea King was an avid cross country runner who tragically lost her life while on a training run at Lake Hodges. This 5K run/walk is held in her memory. Taste of North County Barn Bash Mar. 1

Foundation Auction Fundraiser will be held at the Ecke Family Barn in Carlsbad from 6-11pm. This event is designed to be a LCC Community FUNdraiser with proceeds going to support the Academics and the Arts at La Costa Canyon High School. www.lcchsfoundation.org
Gaslamp Mardi Gras Mar. 4 Mardi Gras is a celebration of Fat Tuesday as held in New Orleans. This mardi gras is open to adults (age 21+) where everyone can party in masked revelry. Hillcrest Fat Tuesday Mar. 4 Fat Tuesday is Mardi Gras time! So, dress in sparkling attire and get ready for some New Orleans style excitement. Robert Egger South Bay Recreation Center Carnival Mar. 6-9 Bring your friends to a carnival at Robert Egger Sr. South Bay Recreation Center where persons of all ages are having a good time. Colon Cancer Alliance Undy 5000 5K Run/Walk Mar. 8 Colon cancer can affect anyone at any age, but most often in people age 50 or older. The purpose of this 5K run/walk is to bring awareness about the importance of colon screening and early detection. Come and join medical personnel and others at this event. San Diego Half Marathon Mar. 9 There’s a half marathon and a 5K to choose from. The course begins and ends at Petco Park and travels through the Gaslamp Quarter, Port District, Liberty Station, Hillcrest, and Balboa Park. St. Patrick’s Day Festival Mar. 15 Wear something green in the spirit of Irish fun when you and your leprechauns come to this festival. Hot Chocolate 5K & 15K Mar. 23 The event is a 5K and 15K race that begins and ends at Petco Park and travels through downtown, Golden Hill, and North Park. Both courses provide a good workout. San Marcos Alive Mar. 23 In addition to a fine arts fair, San Marcos Alive will include craft vendors, art demonstrations and displays, a community mural painting project and plenty of hands-on art projects.
