Spring Home and Garden Show

Held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, San Diego’s Spring Home/Garden Show gives you the opportunity to meet and question the 20 Garden Masters and explore a variety of exhibits on garden displays, landscaping, art, pets, home improvement products, and ideas for decorating or remodeling.

Finish Chelsea’s Run

The 5K run/walk raises money for Chelsea’s Light Foundation Sunflower Scholarship Fund, a program dedicated to helping San Diego’s youth reach their academic goals. Participants may choose between doing the 5K “just for fun” or “timed.” The event is held at Balboa Park and also features activities for families, refreshments, and entertainment.

Sue Krenn 15K

Join the San Diego Track Club for the 49th Sue Krenn 15K, a race that follows a flat course around Mission Bay and Fiesta Island. Kids under 18 run free. You may register online until 6 p.m. on March 1st.

Urban Warrior Dash

For runners who want a bit more of a challenge, the Urban Warrior Dash is a five-mile assault that starts at 6 AM at Petco Park and continues through downtown San Diego until 2 PM, with many difficult obstacles set up along the way. A celebration featuring food, music, and cocktails is held afterwards.

Robert Egger South Bay Recreation Center Carnival

The three day event on 1885 Coronado Ave boasts traditional carnival rides, games, and snacks, making it the perfect destination for fun-lovers of any age! Admission is only $2 for ages 7+ and free for kids 6 years old and younger.

Colon Cancer Alliance Undy 5000 5K Run/Walk

San Diego Half Marathon/Gaslamp Block Party

Designed to provide runners with a scenic look at the city of San Diego, the course starts and finishes at Petco Park and snakes through Hillcrest, Balboa Park, the Port District, and The Gaslamp Quarter, where a block party is held during and after the run. The block party features vendor booths, a relaxing lounge, and music, making it the best place to celebrate afterwards!

Connections Housing Downtown Grand Opening

The service and residential community is dedicated to reducing homelessness by providing permanent housing for those living on the streets of San Diego. With 223 housing units, a health center, and countless social services located in one building, Connections Housing is taking a major step in assisting the city’s homeless population. St. Patrick’s Day 10K, 2 Mile and 4 Mile Run/Walks

Athletes can choose between a 10K run, a 4 mile run/walk, or a 2 mile run/walk. Additionally, there are gift drawings, awards for age divisions, and a special prize for the best Irish costume! The races are held on E Mission Bay Drive from 7:30 am until 10 am.

ShamROCK 2013

For the eighth year in a row, the Historic Gaslamp Quarter will host a musical block party to celebrate St. Patrick’s day. The 21+ celebration features live music, DJs, green beer, Jameson whiskey, and Irish food. Proceeds from the event go to the Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation.

Fight for Air Climb & Festival

For the athlete willing to experiment, the Fight for Air Climb & Festival challenges participants to climb the stairwell of the One America Plaza Building, the tallest building in downtown San Diego. After climbing the 657 stairs to reach the 32nd floor, celebrate by attending the event’s outdoor festival featuring music, food, and vendors.

Seaport Village Busker Festival

This festival is a unique opportunity to enjoy a variety of talented street performers without having to travel very far. The festival is held in the Seaport Village, at 849 West Harbor Drive from 12 until 5 pm. Entry is free, although the performers will accept tips.

Rolando Street Fair

San Diego Race for Autism

Sadly, autism has become one of our country’s greatest epidemics, with approximately one in 88 children being diagnosed with it each year. Proceeds from the race go to support programs and services for autistic children in the San Diego community. Participants may choose between a 5K run/walk or a 1-mile walk. The event is held in Balboa Park from 7-11:30 am, with an information fair being held after.
